The Madras High Court has ordered the Centre to manufacture oxygen through DRDO and meet the demand of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry as a preparatory measure to contain the expected third wave of COVID-19.
In a suo moto case, the High Court said that the Centre should equip the health infrastructure so that more damages could be prevented during the third wave.
In a related development TVS charitable trust has offered 1600 oxygen concentrators to the State. Out of this, 500 oxygen concentrators were given today.
TEMASEC foundation has given 300 oxygen concentrators each with five litre capacity.
