61st foundation day of Maharashtra is being celebrated in a low key across the state for the second consecutive year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today paid floral tributes at Hutatma Smarak in Mumbai, the memorial of 105 martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Samyukta Maharashtra movement. Uddhav Thackeray hoisted national flag at Mantralaya in Mumbai.
Guardian Ministers of various districts attended the foundation day programs at the district headquarters following Covid-19 protocols. Vaccine drives for the citizens in the age group of 18 to 44 and Covid care centre facilities were inaugurated at some places in the state on the occasion of Maharashtra Day.
