Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh submits resignation to CM Uddhav Thackeray

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday. Today, Bombay High Court has directed the CBI to start a preliminary inquiry within 15 days in the case filed by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh alleging malpractices.

Deshmukh belongs to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), an ally of the Shiv Sena and the Congress in Maharashtra.
