Two Children of Madhya Pradesh receive the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2021

Two children from Madhya Pradesh, Palak Sharma and Anuj Jain have been awarded with the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2021. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi interacted with them and other Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) awardees today via video conferencing. Union Women & Child Development Minister, Smt Smriti Zubin Irani was also present on the occasion.

Palak Sharma has received the award in the Sports category. A Grade VIII student studying at Shri Krishna Public School in Indore, she is the first female diver of Indian origin to win a Gold medal in Asian Age Group Championship held in Bengaluru in 2019.

Anuj Jain from Harda has received the award in the Scholastic category. He has represented India at many global platforms including International Earth Science Olympiad where he bagged Gold, Silver & Bronze in 3 competitions. He has also been ranked among the Top 1% in the Standard Examination of Chemistry and 5th in the Mental Arithmetic (UCMAS) Competition

It may be noted that the Government of India has been conferring the Bal Shakti Puraskar under Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar to the children with exceptional abilities and outstanding achievement in the fields of innovation, scholastic achievements, sports, arts & culture, social service and bravery. Each award carries a medal, a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/-, a certificate and a citation.This year, 32 applicants from across the country, under different categories of Bal Shakti Puraskar, have been selected for PMRBP-2021.
