KDMC penalised over 2600 citizens for not wearing a mask within 14 days

KDMC has levied Rs 65500 from 131 peoples on Wednesday whereas, Rs 82500 from 165 peoples on Tuesday, Rs 66000 from 132 peoples on Monday.

Kalyan: Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has in its drive to penalise at least 2650 citizens in 14 days, who don’t wear masks in public places, over 2659 citizens have penalised Rs 13.29500 lakh, according to KDMC data.

On Wednesday, 286 fresh Covid-19, cases were recorded in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation belt. 

KDMC official said that we now often see that the people without wearing a mask are moving about without any fear of infection. It seems that corona ran away from our society. In a bid to knock some sense of seriousness amongst the people the civic officials have begun daily penalizing people for not wearing a mask in public places.

However, on Wednesday, officials from KDMC had penalized a total of 131 peoples who do not wear a mask in a public place. The fine imposed on violators of Rs 65500. 

According to KDMC officials, further unlocking can happen only if there is adherence to wearing masks, social distancing and hygiene.

A majority of citizens do not wear masks which will lead to the situation becoming difficult, it might be the number of corona patient’s rise, informed an official from KDMC. 

KDMC is initiating a drive of penalizing approximately over 100 citizens per day who are found without masks in public.
