Bihar elections: JD(U) to contest on 122 seats, BJP will fight on 121 seats: Nitish Kumar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday announced that his party decided to contest elections on 122 seats, while on the other hand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will fight ON 121 seats.

JD(U) will be giving seven seats from their quota to Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and “talks are underway” of BJP accommodating seats from their quota to Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), said the Chief Minister.

The Opposition has also reached their seat-sharing agreement, with RJD to get 144 seats. Congress will be contesting nearly 70 seats whereas the Left parties will field candidates on around 30 seats. Meanwhile, RJD will accommodate VIP and JMM in its quota.
