Mumbai: The state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has deployed 35,000 of its party cadres (Karyakartas) as part of its #BJP4Seva outreach program which has enabled it to give food and food grains to 15 lakh needy people across the state. Disclosing this to TheNews21, state BJP chief spokesperson Madhav Bhandari disclosed that the party’s 590 Mandals (party units) are active in this work.
The party cadres have set up 550 community kitchens which prepare hygienic food for the needy. Bhandari disclosed that around 1 lakh needy people are getting vegetables and fruits. Taking note of the demand for blood, party cadres have donated 4,500 units of blood to the health service.
Bhandari disclosed that the party’s 3,000 odd Corporators from various municipal corporations, municipal councils, Zilla Parishads and other civic bodies are actively engaged in sanitation works in their respective civic wards and areas. In the rural areas, corporators and party workers have carried out sanitation work in about 4,000 villages.
The party has so far donated 3,000 medical kits to doctors, nurses, para-medical staff and other health care workers. About 5,000 Senior Citizens are being provided with medicine and other help at their doorstep.
Bhandari further disclosed that all the BJP MP’s have donated Rs 1 crore and 1 month salary to the PM Relief Fund. The party has set up a war room to coordinate relief works with various other states. Between April 2 and April 6, the party has launched a special donation drive for the PM Cares Fund, he added.
