Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated across several parts of India with midnight prayers, temple ceremonies and Dahi-Handi events as devotees gathered to mark the birth of Lord Krishna.
In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple witnessed large gatherings of devotees. The celebrations included religious rituals associated with the birth of Lord Krishna, with worshippers offering prayers at the temple.
In East Midnapore, West Bengal, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari joined Janmashtami celebrations at the ISKCON temple in Mecheda. Devotees gathered at the temple to take part in the religious festivities.
In Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the ISKCON Temple in East of Kailash and participated in midnight prayers. The temple saw a large gathering of devotees observing the festival.
In Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at the Gorakhnath Temple around midnight as devotees observed the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna.
In Jaipur, Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and his wife attended midnight prayers at the ISKCON Temple in Mansarovar. They took part in the religious celebrations held to mark Janmashtami.
Meanwhile, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh witnessed Dahi-Handi celebrations at the residence of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Chouhan participated in the festivities along with his wife and other people who had gathered for the occasion.
Chouhan also offered prayers at his residence and took part in the devotional observance marking Janmashtami.
The celebrations reflected the diverse ways in which Janmashtami is observed across the country, from traditional temple rituals and midnight prayers to Dahi-Handi events. Devotees in different cities gathered to celebrate the festival with religious ceremonies, prayers and devotional activities.
