Kannada superstar Yash’s much-awaited Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is already creating strong buzz ahead of its theatrical release. The Geetu Mohandas-directed action film has recorded impressive advance sales in India, with bookings moving close to the ₹20 crore mark.
The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide on August 26 and marks Yash’s return to the big screen after the massive success of KGF: Chapter 2.
According to industry tracking data, Toxic has sold around 2.7 lakh tickets through advance bookings so far. Its total advance gross, including blocked seats, is estimated at around ₹19.66 crore.
The Kannada version is currently driving the film’s advance business. It has generated approximately ₹7.72 crore, while the Hindi version has contributed around ₹3.86 crore. The remaining amount has come from the film’s Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam releases.
Karnataka emerges as Toxic’s biggest market
Karnataka is currently leading the advance-booking race for Toxic. The state has contributed nearly ₹7.72 crore to the film’s opening-day advance sales, underlining Yash’s strong popularity in his home market.
The strong response has also raised expectations around the film’s opening-day performance. With several days still remaining before its theatrical release, the advance figures could rise further.
Grand Hyderabad event planned before release
The makers are also preparing for a major promotional event in Hyderabad. The pre-release programme is scheduled to take place on August 22 at Malla Reddy University, with the film’s cast expected to attend.
Toxic features Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth in important roles. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is positioned as a major pan-India release.
Yash’s next big project is Ramayana
After Toxic, Yash will be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana. The two-part mythological film is scheduled to begin its theatrical run during Diwali 2026, with the first part planned for worldwide release on November 6, 2026.
Yash will play Ravana, while Ranbir Kapoor will portray Rama and Sai Pallavi will appear as Sita. Sunny Deol is set to play Hanuman.
