Police Detail Injuries After Parliament March Violence
A day after the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) ‘Chalo Sansad’ march witnessed clashes near Parliament, Delhi Police on Tuesday said that more than 100 police and paramilitary personnel were injured while attempting to stop protesters from breaching security barricades. Officials said several injured personnel are still undergoing treatment, with the number of casualties likely to increase as medical assessments continue.
According to the police, the injured include more than 10 senior officers belonging to the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the DANIPS cadre. Initial medical examinations have reportedly found fractures and other injuries among several personnel deployed during the operation.
Investigation Underway Into Violence During Protest
Police said they are examining multiple videos circulating on social media that allegedly captured incidents of violence during the demonstration. Officials stated that the authenticity of the footage is being verified and further legal action may follow depending on the findings.

Delhi Police confirmed that nearly 70 people were detained following the unrest. Officials clarified that those detained are not students and that their identities and backgrounds are currently being verified.
An FIR has been registered under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including offences related to rioting, assault on public servants and damage to public property. Police said around 15 to 20 official vehicles were damaged during the clashes.
Authorities stated that legal proceedings are being initiated against those found involved in acts of violence during the protest.
Security Remains Tight Across Central Delhi
A heavy deployment of Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel continues across key locations in the New Delhi district, including Central Park, Connaught Place’s Inner Circle and surrounding roads.
While police indicated that peaceful demonstrations at Jantar Mantar may continue, they are likely to encourage organisers to shift future protests to the designated protest site at Burari Ground to minimise disruption and strengthen security arrangements.
Officials reiterated that maintaining public order remains their priority and warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found participating in unlawful or violent activities during demonstrations.
