Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion Buzz: Sanjay Shirsat Says Party United After Sachin Ahir Entry, Eyes More Ministerial Berths

Shirsat Denies Internal Rift After Sachin Ahir’s Entry

Maharashtra minister Sanjay Shirsat has said that the recent entry of Sachin Ahir into the ruling political fold has been welcomed by all leaders and there is no internal dissatisfaction within the party ranks.

He stated that reports suggesting resentment or internal disagreement were “just rumours” and not reflective of the actual situation within the organisation.

“No One Is Upset,” Says Shirsat

Clarifying the party’s position, Sanjay Shirsat said that Sachin Ahir’s inclusion was viewed positively and strengthened the party’s position.

He said in a single combined statement: “We all have welcomed the entry of Sachin Ahir that has just happened in our favor. No one is upset about it. These are all just rumors… Whether it’s about expanding the cabinet or getting a deputy chairperson position, everyone has such aspirations, though not everyone’s aspirations are fulfilled, so sometimes you see resentment. Eknath Shinde will try to do justice to them.”

The minister added that expectations and ambitions are natural in politics, but leadership under Eknath Shinde is expected to manage and balance them.

Cabinet Expansion Expectations Build Up

Shirsat also indicated that discussions around cabinet expansion are ongoing and that the ruling group is expecting increased representation in the government.

He said that the group believes it has around 13 to 14 Members of Parliament, strengthening its claim for additional ministerial representation when the cabinet is expanded.

Talks With Centre Leadership Underway

According to Shirsat, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is actively engaging with senior leadership at the central level regarding cabinet expansion and allocation of ministerial positions.

He expressed confidence that the group would receive representation in the coming days once the expansion process moves forward.
