Ladki Bahin Yojana June Installment Update: ₹1,500 Likely To Reach Accounts By Month-End, Aadhaar Linking Crucial

Women enrolled under Maharashtra’s flagship Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana may soon receive another round of financial assistance, with the June installment expected to be credited before the end of the month.

According to reports, the state government is preparing to transfer the monthly ₹1,500 benefit directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts between June 28 and June 30. The assistance is generally released either during the final days of a month or in the opening days of the next month.

Aadhaar-Bank Account Linking Becomes Key Requirement

Officials have once again urged beneficiaries to ensure that their Aadhaar details are properly linked with their bank accounts. Authorities believe this step will help avoid payment failures and speed up the transfer process.

Women who have not completed the required banking formalities could face delays in receiving their installment or may encounter transaction-related issues when the payment cycle begins.

Massive Verification Drive Removes Fake Applications

The government recently completed a large-scale e-KYC verification exercise aimed at improving transparency in the scheme.

During the verification process, around 80 lakh applications were reportedly found to be ineligible, duplicated, or fraudulent and were removed from the beneficiary list. Officials say the cleanup will ensure that assistance reaches only genuine and eligible women.

More Than 1.7 Crore Women Continue To Benefit

Despite the verification drive, nearly 1.7 crore women across Maharashtra remain eligible and are expected to receive the June installment once the funds are released.

The welfare initiative, launched in June 2024, was designed to strengthen women’s financial independence, improve health and nutrition outcomes, and support self-reliance among households across the state.

Government Reaffirms Commitment To Scheme

The scheme remains one of the Maharashtra government’s biggest social welfare programs. Earlier this year, when installments for March and April were delayed, the government later released the pending benefits together.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has repeatedly stated that eligible beneficiaries will continue receiving assistance under the program. At the same time, the government has initiated action against individuals who allegedly received benefits despite being ineligible, including thousands of men who were found on the beneficiary list.

With the next payment cycle approaching, beneficiaries are advised to verify their Aadhaar linkage and banking details to ensure they receive the June installment without interruption.
