‘PM Modi Also Personally Supervised The NEET Paper Leak’: Rahul Gandhi’s Remark Triggers BJP Counterattack

A fresh political confrontation erupted on Friday after Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ongoing investigation into the NEET examination controversy.

The remarks came after the Supreme Court was informed that Prime Minister Modi was closely monitoring developments related to the probe into alleged irregularities surrounding the medical entrance examination.

Rahul Gandhi Questions Government’s Handling of NEET Row

During proceedings before the apex court, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the bench that the Prime Minister was personally overseeing concerns linked to the investigation and the government’s response to the controversy.

Reacting to the development on social media, Rahul Gandhi launched a criticism of the Centre, suggesting that if the Prime Minister was personally supervising the matter now, accountability should also extend to the circumstances that led to the crisis.

The Congress leader has been consistently raising questions over examination-related controversies, including the NEET issue and concerns surrounding evaluation systems in other national-level exams. He has repeatedly sought answers from the Union government and education authorities regarding transparency and accountability.

BJP Rejects Congress Leader’s Interpretation

The Bharatiya Janata Party strongly objected to Gandhi’s remarks, accusing him of drawing misleading conclusions from the court proceedings.

BJP leader Amit Malviya said, “It is preposterous, outrageous, and a stretch beyond reason to suggest that Prime Minister Modi personally supervised the NEET paper leak. This is precisely why Rahul Gandhi struggles to be taken seriously on matters of national importance.”

He further added, “Instead of standing with students and contributing constructively, Rahul Gandhi has once again chosen sensationalism over responsibility.”

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi also criticised the Congress MP, claiming he had misinterpreted the context of the government’s submission before the court.

NEET Investigation Remains Under Scrutiny

The controversy stems from allegations of irregularities and a paper leak linked to the NEET examination, which triggered widespread concern among students and parents across the country.

The matter continues to be examined by investigating agencies, while the Supreme Court is monitoring aspects related to the government’s response and measures being taken to ensure fairness and transparency in the examination process.

As the investigation progresses, the issue has increasingly become a political flashpoint, with both the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress trading charges over accountability and the handling of one of the country’s most important entrance examinations.
