Serious Questions Over MLA Kisan Kathore as Jailed Gangster Alleges ‘Supari’ Offer in Builder Dispute Case

A fresh controversy has erupted after jailed gangster Ejaz Lakdawala made sensational allegations against BJP MLA Kisan Kathore, claiming he was approached for a contract killing, as per Mumbai Mirror report.

According to Lakdawala, the alleged offer was made in 2023 when he was already in custody. In a letter sent to Thane Police Commissioner Ashutosh Dhumbare, the gangster claimed that individuals linked to the MLA tried to hire him to eliminate an Ambernath-based builder.

Lakdawala further alleged that he was even connected to the MLA through a video call, during which he was promised “any amount of money” for carrying out the killing. However, he has maintained that he refused the offer, citing his imprisonment and unwillingness to engage in such activities.

Allegations Raise Concerns Over Political Links

The claims have raised uncomfortable questions, especially as Lakdawala linked the alleged plot to a land dispute involving builder Vishwanath Panvelkar near Badlapur. He stated that multiple attempts were made to convince him, but he eventually refused and cut off contact.

Notably, the letter gains significance in the backdrop of a firing incident outside the builder’s residence in Ambernath in April 2024. Though no injuries were reported, the incident had already triggered concerns over safety and possible criminal angles.

While these claims remain unverified, the seriousness of the allegations has put the spotlight on the need for a thorough probe, especially given the involvement of a sitting MLA’s name.

MLA Denies, But Questions Remain

Responding to the allegations, Kisan Kathore strongly denied any involvement, saying he does not even know Lakdawala and has no reason to engage in such acts.

However, the situation raises broader concerns about how such serious allegations involving public representatives surface repeatedly, and whether enough is being done to address them transparently.

Lakdawala has also stated that he is willing to record his official statement if permitted by the court, which could further influence the direction of the investigation.

At present, authorities have not confirmed the claims, but the case has once again highlighted the blurred lines between crime and politics, leaving many questions unanswered.
