The Baramati plane crash case has taken a dramatic turn as Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking attention on the investigation into the tragic incident that claimed the life of senior leader Ajit Pawar.
Letter Sent After Rohit Pawar’s Appeal
The Chief Minister’s letter comes after MLA Rohit Pawar raised serious concerns over the handling of the case. Fadnavis forwarded Rohit Pawar’s detailed representation to Amit Shah, attaching his letter and seeking appropriate action.
Rahul Gandhi Drawn Into the Issue
Earlier, Rohit Pawar met Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in Delhi and urged him to raise the issue in Parliament. Sharing details on social media, he claimed that the crash occurred under “suspicious circumstances” and handed over a dossier of evidence collected from various sources.
“No FIR Filed,” Rahul Gandhi Questions Probe
Reacting to the matter, Rahul Gandhi said the situation appears questionable, highlighting that no FIR had been registered despite the seriousness of the crash. He stressed that basic legal procedures seem to have been ignored and called for a fair, transparent, and impartial investigation.
What Happened in the Baramati Crash
The tragic incident took place on January 28, when a chartered aircraft carrying Ajit Pawar took off from Mumbai at around 8 am. About 45 minutes into the flight, the plane crashed while attempting to land near Baramati airport. All five people on board, including Pawar, lost their lives.
Ajit Pawar’s Political Legacy
Ajit Pawar was one of Maharashtra’s most experienced leaders, having served as Deputy Chief Minister six times under different governments led by leaders like Prithviraj Chavan, Devendra Fadnavis, Uddhav Thackeray, and Eknath Shinde. His sudden death sent shockwaves across the state’s political landscape.
Political Stakes Rise After New Demands
Following his demise, Sunetra Pawar was appointed as Deputy Chief Minister and leader of the NCP. Now, with fresh allegations and demands for a deeper probe, the issue is turning into a major political flashpoint.
As pressure mounts from multiple leaders, all eyes are now on the central government’s response and whether a high-level investigation will be ordered into the Baramati crash.
