A month after the devastating aircraft accident near Baramati that claimed the life of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, his nephew and NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has shared a heartfelt message recalling the painful day.

Rohit Pawar took to X to post a screenshot of a WhatsApp contact saved as “Ajit Kaka.” The image showed an outgoing call made early in the morning on the day of the accident, shortly after news of the crash began circulating. The call remained unanswered.

In his emotional note, Rohit wrote that he dialed the number hoping the news was false and that it was all a nightmare. He described the silence on the other end as deeply painful, saying he still struggles to accept that his uncle is no longer there to respond with his familiar voice.

Crash That Shook Maharashtra

The fatal crash occurred on January 28 near Baramati while Ajit Pawar was reportedly traveling for election-related engagements during the final phase of local body polls. The incident sent shockwaves across Maharashtra’s political circles, with leaders across party lines expressing grief.

Questions Over Investigation

Even as he mourns, Rohit Pawar has continued to raise concerns about the circumstances surrounding the crash. Marking one month since the tragedy, he stated that he would soon present new information that he claims could shed more light on the incident.
