Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation in the 131st episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, reflecting on technology-driven progress, social consciousness and India’s evolving cultural identity.

Opening his address, the Prime Minister spoke about his interactions with global leaders and technology executives during the recently concluded AI Impact Summit 2026. He said the exhibition at the summit showcased practical applications of artificial intelligence, particularly in areas such as animal healthcare and dairy farming.

PM Modi noted that AI tools are now enabling farmers to monitor livestock health round-the-clock, demonstrating how innovation can directly improve rural livelihoods.

Call for Zero-Defect, World-Class Manufacturing

The Prime Minister urged Indian manufacturers and start-ups to focus on quality-driven growth, stressing the importance of producing zero-defect goods and services that can compete globally.

He said India’s ambition is not limited to scale alone, but to become a trusted global centre for innovation, where products and solutions are respected worldwide. According to him, consistency in quality will define India’s long-term credibility in international markets.

Emerging Technologies to Shape India’s Future

Highlighting key sectors, PM Modi spoke about the growing role of artificial intelligence, space exploration, semiconductor manufacturing and green energy in shaping India’s future.

He said the country’s youth, entrepreneurs and innovators are central to this transformation and have the potential to elevate India’s global standing through cutting-edge research and responsible innovation.

Organ Donation: A Message of Compassion and Awareness

In a deeply emotional segment, the Prime Minister spoke about a young girl from Kerala, Aalin Sherin Abraham, whose organs were donated after her death. He praised the courage and compassion shown by her family, saying such decisions give new life to others.

PM Modi said awareness around organ donation is steadily increasing and is also contributing to advances in medical science. He encouraged citizens to view organ donation as a noble act that continues life beyond loss.

Moving Beyond Colonial Mindsets

The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s efforts to shed remnants of colonial influence and embrace its own cultural and civilisational identity. Referring to the ‘Panch-Pran’ articulated during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, he reiterated the importance of freeing the nation from the mindset of slavery.

He said cultural self-confidence is essential for national progress and unity.

Rajaji Festival at Rashtrapati Bhavan

PM Modi informed listeners about the upcoming Rajaji Festival at Rashtrapati Bhavan, scheduled to begin on February 23. An associated exhibition showcasing India’s heritage and traditions will be open to the public from February 24 to March 1.

Digital Safety and Fraud Awareness

Raising concerns over digital fraud, the Prime Minister reminded citizens that awareness alone is not enough without caution. He urged people to remain vigilant while using digital platforms and to strictly follow KYC-related guidelines.

PM Modi warned against sharing personal or financial information casually and encouraged families to discuss digital safety at home.

Spotlight on Innovation in Farming

The Prime Minister also shared the story of a young farmer, Hirod Patel from Odisha, describing it as an example of how traditional agriculture can be transformed through innovation.

He said Hirod Patel moved beyond conventional farming practices and adopted a new approach, demonstrating how curiosity and learning can change livelihoods in rural India.

PM Modi paid tribute to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on her birth anniversary on February 24. He described her as a leader whose dedication to public service continues to resonate with people.

The Prime Minister recalled her strong leadership, clarity of thought and the lasting affection she commands in Tamil Nadu, noting that her legacy remains deeply rooted in public memory.
