Yogi Adityanath Mohan Bhagwat Lucknow meeting 2027 UP elections

In a development that has triggered intense political speculation, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a private meeting with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Lucknow on Wednesday night. The meeting took place at Saraswati Sishu Mandir in Nirala Nagar and lasted for around 40 minutes.

No official statement was released after the meeting, but the timing has raised many eyebrows. Uttar Pradesh is heading towards Assembly elections in 2027, and political observers believe such high-level discussions may shape the future political roadmap of the state.

Bhagwat is currently on a two-day visit to Lucknow as part of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s centenary year outreach programme.

Why Is Bhagwat Visiting UP So Frequently?

The RSS chief has been making regular visits to Uttar Pradesh in recent months. In January, he spent nearly 10 days in Mathura. In February, he toured Gorakhpur for three days. Now, his Lucknow visit has once again drawn attention.

Although the RSS describes these visits as part of its 100-year outreach campaign, many political experts feel the repeated presence of the organisation’s top leader in India’s largest state cannot be ignored, especially with elections approaching next year.

Focus on 2027 Election Strategy?

According to media reports, the meeting reportedly included discussions about preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Talks are believed to have centred on strengthening organisational coordination and energising supporters across the state.

Yogi Adityanath has often spoken about issues related to Kashi Vishwanath, the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and Krishna Janmabhoomi. Reports, suggest that these themes may continue to play a role in the broader political strategy.

Reports also indicate that nearly two lakh RSS workers could be given responsibilities in Uttar Pradesh. Their role may include reaching out to people, spreading awareness about government schemes, and connecting with beneficiaries at the grassroots level.

Discussion on SIR and Immigration Issues

Reports claim that the issue of SIR (Special Intensive Revision) was also discussed during the meeting. Emphasis was reportedly placed on ensuring strong coordination between the organisation and party workers.

Concerns about illegal immigration, especially involving Bangladeshi nationals, were also said to be part of the conversation.

Proposal for Mega Hindu Conference in 2026

One major idea that reportedly came up was organising a large conference of Hindu religious leaders and organisations in 2026 in Uttar Pradesh. The event could bring together seers, RSS leaders, and senior BJP figures from across the country.

The objective, Reports say, would be to send a message of unity among Hindu groups ahead of the 2027 elections.

Bigger Political Picture

The meeting between Yogi Adityanath and Mohan Bhagwat comes at a time when Uttar Pradesh remains politically crucial for national politics. If the BJP-led government secures another victory in 2027, it would mark a third consecutive term in the state.
