Delhi: Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Monday demanded strict parliamentary action against Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of deliberately disrupting the functioning of the House over an unpublished book controversy.

Speaking on the issue related to former Army chief General MM Naravane’s (Retd.) book Four Stars of Destiny, Giriraj Singh said the publisher itself has officially clarified that the book has neither been printed nor released.

“The publisher has stated that this book has not yet been published,” Singh said, adding that despite this clarification, the Opposition continued to raise the matter and stalled parliamentary proceedings.

The Union Minister alleged that Rahul Gandhi knowingly misled Parliament and held the House “hostage” by repeatedly bringing up the issue. He asserted that such conduct amounts to a serious breach of parliamentary privilege.

“A privileged motion should be moved against Rahul Gandhi, who has deliberately held the House hostage,” Singh said, stressing that Parliament cannot function if unverified claims are raised despite official clarifications.

Taking a sharp dig at the Congress leader, Giriraj Singh questioned Rahul Gandhi’s understanding of parliamentary procedures. “It must be assumed that the Leader of the Opposition lacks parliamentary knowledge,” he remarked.
