New Delhi: The political row over former Army chief General MM Naravane’s unpublished memoir intensified after the Delhi Police registered an FIR to investigate the alleged circulation of the book. Reacting sharply, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey questioned how copies of the memoir were being displayed in Parliament when the publisher has clearly stated that the book has not been printed or released.
Referring to the official clarification by Penguin Random House India, Dubey said the publisher has confirmed that the memoir has not gone into publication and that legal action will be taken against anyone involved in its illegal circulation. “If the publisher says the book has not been published, then which book is Rahul Gandhi showing in Parliament?” Dubey asked, accusing the Congress leader of misleading the House.
Dubey stressed that Parliament runs on rules and discipline and alleged that the issue was part of a larger attempt to damage national interests. He urged Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to take strict action against Rahul Gandhi and what he described as “Soros-linked elements” working to harm the country. According to him, such actions should not be tolerated inside Parliament, especially when sensitive military-related material is involved.
