Mumbai: Maharashtra BJP minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Friday strongly defended the state government’s recent decisions, stating that all actions taken are aimed solely at accelerating Maharashtra’s development. He said the people of the state are politically aware and will remain vigilant, adding that the government’s intentions are clear and transparent.

Speaking on development initiatives, Bawankule praised Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for creating a positive investment environment across Maharashtra. He said Fadnavis has succeeded in building confidence among industrialists and companies not only from across India but also from neighbouring regions. According to the minister, investors are being assured of essential facilities such as land availability, water supply, road connectivity, reliable infrastructure, and uninterrupted electricity in the state.

“The people of Maharashtra will remain cautious; this work has been done for the development of the state,” Bawankule said, underlining that the government’s focus is on long-term growth, employment generation, and economic stability.

Addressing political allegations, the minister categorically denied claims of any alliance or understanding with AIMIM. Terming such reports as misleading, Bawankule clarified that the Bharatiya Janata Party does not have the numbers to form a government on its own in the concerned civic body.

“That is incorrect. There has been no tie-up with AIMIM,” he said, explaining that only nine corporators belong to the BJP, while the remaining members are from opposition parties including Congress, AIMIM, and others. He asserted that the BJP has neither extended support nor participated in any arrangement involving these parties.
