Delhi: The Supreme Court has ordered that no new activity or changes should take place in the Aravalli region until further notice. This means the current situation in the area must remain the same to protect the fragile environment.

The court has decided to form a special expert committee to closely examine environmental problems, mining activities, and scientific concerns related to the Aravalli hills. Experts in environment, science, and mining will study the issue and submit a detailed report to the court. All parties involved are allowed to suggest names of suitable experts for this panel.

The Supreme Court has also clearly instructed the state government to strictly stop illegal mining in the region and ensure strong enforcement on the ground.

The case will be heard again after four weeks, when the court will review the progress and the steps taken to protect the Aravalli hills.
