Delhi: A major political row has broken out in Uttar Pradesh after controversial remarks made by state minister Raghuraj Singh against Bollywood superstar Salman Khan surfaced online. The comments, delivered during a public interaction in Aligarh, have ignited fierce debate after a short video clip rapidly spread across social media platforms.
In the viral footage, the minister is seen launching a scathing personal attack on the actor, branding him “anti-national” and questioning his loyalty to India. Singh alleged that Salman Khan harbours affection for Pakistan and even went as far as suggesting that the actor should leave India altogether and relocate there. He accused the Bollywood star of profiting from Indian audiences while allegedly favouring neighbouring countries.
Taking his rhetoric further, the minister made communal remarks, claiming the actor promotes the interests of a particular community despite earning crores from Indian viewers. Singh also made an extreme demand, calling for the harshest punishment against the actor and urging the public to boycott Salman Khan’s films.
The language used in the speech has drawn sharp criticism, with Singh accusing the actor of dishonesty and alleging that money earned in India is being diverted abroad. His remarks have shocked many, especially given his position as a public office-holder.
