Delhi: Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday strongly criticised Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray over his recent remarks targeting people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, accusing him of selective politics and promoting division.

Reacting sharply, Giriraj Singh alleged that Raj Thackeray deliberately targets migrants from northern states while avoiding similar statements against Muslims. He questioned the intent behind such remarks and said they reflect a politics rooted in hatred rather than inclusiveness.

Making his stand clear, Giriraj Singh said: “He practices politics of hatred. He lives in Mumbai, but his tongue does not open in front of Muslims. If he has the courage, let him go to Mahim and say that all Muslims must speak Marathi; only then would he be a real hero.”

The Union Minister’s comments come amid renewed political debate following Raj Thackeray’s statement on linguistic and regional identity. Singh accused the MNS chief of double standards and claimed that targeting specific communities for political gain damages social harmony.
