Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday unveiled a detailed roadmap to make Mumbai slum-free within the next seven years, claiming the city has undergone a “major transformation” during the seven-and-a-half years of Mahayuti rule.

Speaking at a public meeting in Kandivali while campaigning for BJP–Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) candidates in the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections, Fadnavis also took aim at the Shiv Sena UBT and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), calling their alliance a “confusion and corruption alliance.” “Even they do not know what they read,” he remarked, referring to the vision document recently presented by the Thackeray brothers.

Fadnavis highlighted that his government has addressed long-pending issues of Mumbaikars and slum residents through multiple schemes. “People coming to Mumbai from other states and even from abroad are surprised to see the transformation,” he said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to not just promises but actual delivery.

Among the major projects underway, Fadnavis noted the construction of a parallel coastal road along the Western Express Highway, extending up to Bhayandar, scheduled for completion by 2028.
