Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday commemorated the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna recipient Atal Bihari Vajpayee, praising his contributions to the nation and his deep connection with Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the occasion, CM Yogi said, “Today we celebrate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He represented Uttar Pradesh multiple times in the Parliament and it is a matter of pride for our state capital, Lucknow, that he rose from here to serve the nation as Prime Minister. During his tenure, he took the country forward with a new vision of development.”
The Chief Minister highlighted Vajpayee’s statesmanship, leadership qualities, and his vision that aimed to balance economic growth with social harmony. He also urged citizens to remember Vajpayee’s commitment to democracy, unity, and nation-building as an inspiration for the current and future generations.
Across Uttar Pradesh, various programs were organised to mark the day, including floral tributes at statues of Vajpayee and discussions on his political and social legacy. Leaders from different political parties acknowledged his contributions, underscoring his enduring influence on Indian politics.
