Kushinagar: Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai has strongly responded to party MP Shashi Tharoor’s recent remarks comparing BJP veteran L.K. Advani to India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Speaking to the media, Rai emphasised that Nehru’s contributions to nation-building were unparalleled and that no leader could be placed on the same pedestal.
“I just want to say that no one can be compared to Jawaharlal Nehru. He was a leader who truly advanced this country,” Ajay Rai stated. Reflecting on India’s early years after independence, Rai highlighted the immense challenges Nehru faced. “At that time, the country did not even manufacture needles, there was no sufficient grain, and the entire nation lacked proper education and healthcare. No one can be compared to Nehru,” he added.
