‘Parso Jordaar Ailaan Hoga’: Tej Pratap Yadav to Announce Janshakti Janata Dal Candidates on October 13, Confirms Contest from Mahua

Patna: In a dramatic political move ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) founder and former RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav on Saturday announced that his party will reveal its list of candidates on October 13, promising a “big announcement.”

“Parso jordaar ailaan hoga (Day after tomorrow, a grand announcement will be made),” Yadav told reporters, signalling an aggressive start to JJD’s electoral campaign.

Yadav confirmed that he will contest from Mahua, the same seat he won in 2015 as an RJD candidate — now represented by RJD MLA Mukesh Kumar Raushan. His return to Mahua sets up a politically charged battle, as the constituency holds deep emotional and symbolic significance for the Yadav family.

When asked about potential alliances, Tej Pratap dropped a cryptic hint: “Everyone is coming to meet me,” suggesting that JJD could remain open to tie-ups even as it positions itself as an independent force.

Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, was expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) following a controversial social media post where he claimed to be in a long-term relationship — a statement that reignited discussion around his estranged marriage with Aishwarya Rai, granddaughter of former CM Daroga Rai. Though he later said his Facebook account was hacked, the damage within party circles was already done.

Following his ouster, Yadav floated the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), vowing to bring “new energy and honesty” into Bihar politics. His divorce case with Aishwarya remains pending in court.
