Maharashtra Leaders Extend Warm Congratulations to CP Radhakrishnan on Swearing-in as Vice President of India

Mumbai: Following a prolonged vacancy in the Vice President’s office due to the sudden resignation of former VP Jagdeep Dhankar, former Maharashtra Governor and senior politician CP Radhakrishnan was sworn in as the 15th Vice President of India this morning. The ceremony was attended by members of the NDA, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and President Droupadi Murmu.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde extended his heartfelt congratulations to CP Radhakrishnan, praising his majority victory and expressing confidence in his ability to perform his duties with dignity, vision, and commitment. Posting on social media, Shinde said:
“CP Radhakrishnan won with a huge majority, and today he had a very impressive oath-taking ceremony. I was fortunate to attend it and sincerely congratulate the Vice President, Honorable C P. Radhakrishnan. I wish him all the best.”

Shinde further highlighted Radhakrishnan’s simple lifestyle, amiable nature, high thinking, and extensive parliamentary experience, noting that these qualities will enhance the dignity and respect of the Vice President’s office. He added that Radhakrishnan’s long political career will contribute significantly to India’s development and progress.

Reflecting on Radhakrishnan’s tenure as Governor of Maharashtra, Shinde remarked: “He came to Maharashtra as Governor, and we had said then that Maharashtra is lucky. Now, as Vice President from Maharashtra, the state is again fortunate. Taking the oath today, he continues to make the state proud.”

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, also present at the ceremony, conveyed his congratulations on X, stating: “Heartiest congratulations to Hon. Shri CP Radhakrishnan ji on taking oath as the 15th Vice President of India! Your vast experience, dedication to public service, and commitment to the nation will further strengthen our democracy. During your tenure, the Upper House will continue its journey of achieving new milestones in public welfare and national progress. Wishing you a successful tenure!”

When asked about Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s absence, Shinde clarified that MP Praful Patel represented the NDA at the event, as Pawar had a pre-planned program in Raigad. Regarding former VP Jagdeep Dhankar’s presence, Shinde noted that all protocol requirements were followed, and everyone required for the ceremony was present.
