Mumbai: Despite a morning downpour, Mumbai saw minimal disruption as the city largely avoided severe waterlogging. Some low-lying areas, including Sion’s Gandhi Market and patches along the Eastern Express Highway, experienced minor water accumulation. Traffic slowed slightly in these zones, but local trains on both the Central and Western lines ran on schedule.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that light to moderate showers will persist through Monday. “Intense spells are expected midweek as monsoon currents strengthen over the Konkan coast,” the department noted. Temperatures are likely to remain between 27 and 31 degrees Celsius, with high humidity adding to the discomfort.

Commuters are advised to stay updated on localized waterlogging and traffic alerts as the monsoon progresses.
