BJP Leader Annamalai Criticizes Karnataka Government Over Dharmasthala Temple Investigation

Bengaluru: BJP leader Annamalai on Saturday strongly criticized the Karnataka government over its handling of the Dharmasthala Temple investigation, calling it “extremely disturbing” and a misuse of government machinery.

In a tweet, Annamalai stated, “It is extremely disturbing to note that one masked man took the entire government machinery of the Karnataka State for granted for over a month, with the sole aim of denigrating one of the Pillars of Sanatana Dharma, the Dharmasthala Temple. This is not just one man’s doing but a larger conspiracy that is yet to be unmasked.”

He accused the Congress-led government of acting “idiotically” by giving legitimacy to the masked man’s allegations without prima facie evidence. According to Annamalai, the government had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT), conducted random excavations at 13 sites, and projected them as alleged “burial grounds” linked to the temple.

Annamalai added that only one skeleton was found at one site, which turned out to be a male, contradicting the claims made by the masked man. At another site, the bones discovered were reportedly of a person who may have recently died by suicide.
