Patna: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament Ravi Shankar Prasad made sharp remarks during a press interaction in Patna on Saturday, drawing a comparison between India’s global rise and Pakistan’s economic struggle, while defending the naming of ‘Operation Sindoor’, a recent counter-terror action.
“Pakistan and India were born on the same date in 1947… but look at the contrast today. India is the fourth-largest economy in the world, while Pakistan is going around begging with a bowl in its hand,” Prasad stated, underlining India’s growing global stature.
Responding to criticism and queries raised during an all-party delegation visit, Prasad explained the emotional reason behind the naming of the military operation. “We were asked why the operation was named ‘Operation Sindoor’? We said the sindoor of our daughters and sisters was wiped off, so we named it ‘Operation Sindoor’ to destroy those terrorists,” he said.
