New Delhi: In a significant development aimed at enhancing India’s self-reliance in defence production, the Ministry of Defence has announced the establishment of a cutting-edge missile complex that will span across various domains of indigenous capability. The announcement, made via X (formerly Twitter), positions the project as a key pillar of the country’s #AtmanirbharBharat initiative.

The facility will not only house missile production lines but will also incorporate testing infrastructure, integration zones, and a sophisticated materials complex focused on aerospace-grade components. This multi-faceted expansion reflects a major step forward in creating a seamless, in-house ecosystem for advanced weapons manufacturing.

“This initiative marks a major leap toward #AtmanirbharBharat and provides a strategic boost to regional industrial growth,” the Ministry stated in its post.

Officials familiar with the development noted that the facility will significantly reduce India’s dependence on foreign components and will serve both strategic and tactical defence objectives. The materials complex, in particular, is expected to play a crucial role in supporting not only missile systems but also future aerospace and defence platforms.

The integrated setup will also act as a catalyst for defence startups, MSMEs, and suppliers across the country, drawing in partnerships and innovations in materials science, propulsion, and guidance technologies. It aligns with India’s broader vision to emerge as a global hub for advanced defence manufacturing.
