Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated several innovative, citizen-centric initiatives of Maharashtra Cyber at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai. During the event, he launched a new AI-based chatbot and an awareness film aimed at educating citizens about cyber safety and fraud prevention.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Fadnavis emphasised the growing threat of cyber fraud and scam calls. “The chatbot and the awareness film will play a crucial role in helping citizens respond effectively to fraudulent calls and acquire vital information to protect themselves. Public awareness is key to preventing cyber crimes before they occur,” he said.
He also noted the contribution of actors Sharad Kelkar and Ameesha Patel in the awareness film, stating that their involvement would help amplify the message and connect with a wider audience. The Chief Minister further stressed the need to raise awareness about human trafficking and job scams that lure victims abroad and subject them to exploitation. “Cyber Maharashtra must take up awareness campaigns to prevent such inhuman practices,” he directed.
A special screening of the awareness film was also held in the presence of CM Fadnavis. The film, produced in both Marathi and Hindi, features Sharad Kelkar and Ameesha Patel, and focuses on educating the public about cyber crimes and fraud.
Senior officials and both actors were present at the event.
