New Delhi – Minister of State for Cooperation, Muralidhar Mohol, on Tuesday, introduced the ‘Tribhuvan’ Cooperative University Bill, 2025 in the Rajya Sabha under the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

Taking to Twitter (X), Mohol announced, “Under the guidance of the Honorable Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, presented the ‘Tribhuvan’ Cooperative University Bill, 2025 in the Rajya Sabha today.”

The bill aims to establish a dedicated university to promote education, research, and skill development in the cooperative sector. The move aligns with the government’s broader vision to strengthen the cooperative movement in India, ensuring better governance, professional training, and capacity-building for cooperative societies across the country.

The initiative is seen as a major step towards institutionalising cooperative education, enabling future generations to contribute effectively to this sector, which plays a crucial role in India’s rural economy. The bill’s introduction marks a significant milestone in the government’s ongoing efforts to modernise and expand the cooperative framework in the country.

Further discussions and deliberations on the bill are expected in the coming parliamentary sessions.
