PM Modi Meets Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at Hyderabad House to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Saturday, marking a significant step toward enhancing the strategic partnership between India and Indonesia.

PM Modi extended a warm welcome to President Subianto, with the leaders exchanging greetings and shaking hands before engaging in discussions aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal noted that the meeting reflects the shared commitment of both nations to bolstering ties across key areas.

Earlier in the day, President Subianto paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, laying a wreath and signing the visitors’ book as a tribute to the Father of the Nation. He was accompanied by India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, during the visit.

President Subianto also received a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he was greeted by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi. The Guard of Honour and formal welcome underscored the importance of his maiden state visit to India.

Randhir Jaiswal, posting on X (formerly Twitter), remarked, “A special welcome for a special friend! President Droupadi Murmu and PM Modi warmly welcomed President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia on his maiden State Visit to India. He received a ceremonial welcome & Guard of Honour at the Rashtrapati Bhavan forecourt.”
