New Delhi: BJP leader Parvesh Verma has accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of creating a “false security threat” to divert attention from his governance failures. Verma dismissed AAP’s claims of an attack on Kejriwal during a public meeting as a “political stunt” ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
Verma, who is contesting against Kejriwal and Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit from the New Delhi assembly constituency, told reporters, “Delhi Police provides full security. Why does Kejriwal need extra protection from Punjab? This is nothing but a gimmick to gain sympathy votes.”
He further alleged that Kejriwal is scripting a drama to project himself as a victim. “He is trying to create a narrative where he later claims, ‘I was attacked,’ to fuel election theatrics,” Verma said. The BJP leader also criticized Kejriwal’s tenure, pointing to unresolved issues like pollution, water shortages, and infrastructure challenges, which he believes are being overshadowed by AAP’s alleged tactics.
The allegations come as the electoral battle for Delhi intensifies, with leaders vying for dominance in key constituencies.
