Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a series of ambitious projects worth ₹32,000 crore for Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, encompassing various sectors such as health, education, transportation, energy, and civic infrastructure.

Among the highlights of the event, PM Modi flagged off the inaugural run of the first Electric Train in the valley, along with the train service between Sangaldan station and Baramulla station. Notably, the Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan section, featuring Ballast Less Track (BLT) throughout its length, promises an enhanced travel experience for passengers.

Additionally, approximately 1500 newly recruited government officials received their appointment orders during the ceremony, marking a significant step towards bolstering the region’s administrative capacity.

In his address, PM Modi expressed confidence in Jammu and Kashmir’s potential, reaffirming his commitment to realizing the aspirations of its people through the vision of ‘Viksit Jammu and Kashmir.’

“I have full faith in you, and we will make ‘Viksit Jammu and Kashmir.’ Your dreams of 70 years will be fulfilled by Modi in the coming years,” he affirmed.

Reflecting on the region’s transformation, PM Modi highlighted the shift from a narrative dominated by “disappointing news of bombs, kidnappings, and separation” to one focused on development and progress.

Attributing the turnaround to the abrogation of Article 370, PM Modi emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is now poised for comprehensive development.

“Because of the abrogation of Article 370, I have asked people to help BJP win 370 seats and NDA win 400 seats in elections,” he declared.

PM Modi also welcomed the release of a film on Article 370, noting its potential to disseminate accurate information and foster greater understanding among the public.

The event saw the participation of prominent figures including Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Union minister Jitendra Singh, and BJP leaders like J-K unit president Ravinder Raina, underscoring the significance of the occasion in the region’s developmental journey.
