Former Shiv Sena corporator Abhishek Ghosalkar found himself at the center of a harrowing incident on Thursday as he was shot at in the Dahisar area of Mumbai. The altercation, stemming from a personal dispute, left Goshalkar seriously injured and he was rushed to Karuna Hospital in Borivali for treatment but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Ghosalkar, son of former MLA Vinod Ghosalkar and a prominent figure within Uddhav Thackeray’s party, held the esteemed position of chairman of the Mumbai Buildings Repairs and Reconstruction Board. Additionally, his wife also served as a corporator, highlighting the family’s deep-rooted connections in the political landscape.
The attack unfolded within the confines of Mauris Noronha’s office, colloquially known as Mauris Bhai, where Ghosalkar and Noronha had reportedly harbored personal enmity. However, recent attempts at reconciliation led to Ghosalkar’s presence at Noronha’s office for an event, signaling a potential resolution to their past conflicts.
As the investigation unfolds, the incident casts a stark light on the escalating tensions within Mumbai’s political circles, underscoring the need for swift and decisive action to ensure the safety and security of all individuals involved.
