In a proactive move aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order, Dhule Superintendent of Police (SP) Srikant Dhiware has announced the commencement of a comprehensive operation. Scheduled to kick off today, the operation will see a concerted effort to address various concerns and potential threats in the community as part of preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

SP Srikant Dhiware outlined the objectives of the operation, which will be conducted at respective police stations starting tomorrow at 11 am. The operation will specifically target four key areas:

  1. Body Offenders: Individuals accused of offenses falling within police jurisdiction over the past three years will be summoned to the police stations. This measure aims to address pending cases and ensure accountability within the community.
  2. Election-Related Offenders: Those identified as potential threats to law and order during the electoral process will be called in for questioning. This proactive approach seeks to prevent any untoward incidents and safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
  3. Group Rivalries: Individuals involved in group rivalries or communal tensions over the past three years will be summoned for scrutiny. By addressing historical grievances, authorities aim to foster peace and harmony in the community.
  4. History Sheeters: The operation will target known history sheeters, with the number of individuals under scrutiny increased to 148 from the previous count of 80. By closely monitoring these individuals, law enforcement agencies seek to prevent potential criminal activities and maintain public safety.

During the operation, individuals summoned to the police stations will be served notices under Section 149 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and provided with relevant information (‘SUCHANA’). Additionally, authorities will review and implement any necessary preventive measures to mitigate risks and maintain order.

To ensure effective coordination and oversight, Sub Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) will be present during the operation, overseeing its execution and addressing any emerging concerns.

Notably, the operation will also address the issue of arms licenses, with a directive from the Election Commission to deposit all non-essential firearms licenses. This measure aims to reduce the potential for violence and maintain a peaceful electoral environment.

As Dhule Police launches this proactive operation, it underscores their commitment to upholding the rule of law, ensuring public safety, and fostering a conducive environment for free and fair elections. Through collaborative efforts and community engagement, authorities strive to build trust, promote accountability, and uphold the democratic principles of the nation.
