During her speech, Priyanka Gandhi addressed the issue of alleged corruption in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the matter. She claimed that over 250 scams have been uncovered during the 18-year rule of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh. Priyanka Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of ignoring these issues because those responsible for embezzling public funds and jeopardizing the future of the youth are affiliated with the BJP.
She asserted, “PM Modi is employing central agencies to stifle the voices of the people, yet he has turned a blind eye to corruption in BJP-ruled states. There have been more than 250 scams in Madhya Pradesh over the last 18 years under BJP governance, but PM Modi has not dispatched his agencies here. Not a single official or BJP leader has been arrested. Even in the state where scandals like Vyapam and Mahakal Lok unfolded, PM Modi has maintained silence on these matters.”
Priyanka Gandhi’s misstep in her speech drew attention, with many pointing out the gender-specific nature of the term “Mahapurush” and its inadvertent use when referring to her grandmother, who was a prominent female leader in Indian politics.
