Congress lodges police complaint against BJP leader for hurting sentiments

The controversy over the book published by Delhi unit of BJP titled, ‘Aaj Ke Shivaji – Narendra Modi,’ (Today’s Shivaji – Narendra Modi) is growing with each passing moment. Amidst the raw, Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe has lodged a police complaint against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with Nagpur police.

In the complaint, Londhe said, the Delhi unit of BJP has published a book titled, ‘Aaj Ke Shivaji – Narendra Modi’. It is clear from the title that Prime Minister Narednra Modi has been compared with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. “Millions of people worship Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his comparison with Narendra Modi or anyone else hurts our sentiments.”

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had brought all the sections of the society under one flag to launch struggle against injustice and oppression. “However, today the situation is completely opposite. Today, the country is facing social divide and fascism. On this backdrop, comparison of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with Prime Minister is major insult. Therefore, I demand, the book be banned immediately and legal action be initiated against writer of the book Jaybhagvan Goyal and publisher of the book,” Londhe said.
