BJP is obstructing the election of the Speaker by using the Governor. A case of sedition should be filed against Kalicharan Baba who insulted Mahatma Gandhi.

Mumbai: Election of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly will be held by voice vote and the government has planned to hold this election tomorrow (Tuesday) itself. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole clarified that the decision taken by the state legislature to hold the election of the Speaker by voice vote is not unconstitutional.

Patole was responding to a query from newspersons regarding the letter sent by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to the state government saying that holding the elections with a voice vote was unconstitutional.

Patole further said that the state legislature has the power to amend the rules, and the rules for the election of the speaker have been amended accordingly.

There is a similar process in the Lok Sabha, and Maharashtra has adopted the same process of electing the Speaker by voice vote. The same tradition is followed in other states. In Maharashtra too, the election of the Chairman of Legislative Council is by voice vote. Therefore, the decision taken by the legislature is not unconstitutional and a letter explaining the government’s stand will be sent to the Governor.

It has been once again proven that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is pursuing a hidden agenda by keeping the Governor in the front. The election process for the post of Assembly Speaker has been completed. But the BJP is deliberately creating obstruction through the Governor.

The BJP government has not elected a vice-president in the Lok Sabha in three years, people know their true face, said the Congress state president.

MPCC president Nana Patole has demanded that a case of treason should be immediately filed against a self-proclaimed godman named Kalicharan Baba for insulting the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Nana Patole said that a self-proclaimed godman named Kalicharan, a resident of Akola, had hurled insults at the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, using unacceptable language, while on the other hand, has praised Gandhiji’s assassin, Nathuram Godse.

Kalicharan Baba has committed a grave crime by insulting Mahatma Gandhi. This Baba should be charged with sedition and should be punished immediately.

Many countries around the world consider the thoughts of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi as an ideal and follow them. It is unfortunate that some people in our own country deliberately defame him and use vulgar language against him.
