21 RR provides succor in Kashmir valley amidst Coronavirus scare

Handwara:  In the most trying and troubling times in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the 21 Rastriya Rifles (21RR) has been providing relief and succor to the people of the Kashmir valley who are now facing a lockdown due to the Coronavirus scare. Officers and Jawans of the 21RR on April 4 visited many places in Budkoot Handwara and Kulangam  Handwara.

Their talk with the locals of these villages was much needed relief. They made the local people aware about the Coronavirus. The 21RR men demonstrated to the villagers as to how they should take care of themselves and from this virus and prevent it’s spread.

The 21RR men also visited Madrasa’s at Badkoot Handwara where they made announcements requesting the citizens of Budkoot Handwara to please stay at home and avoid unnecessary travel. Speaking to TheNews21 teacher of Madrasa Budkoot Maulavi Irfan Ahmad said that 21RR has helped us in every possible way they can. “Recently, a fortnight ago fire damaged our building at that time 21RR helped us in every possible way to repair the damage and lifted our mood. They helped us by holding medical camps, gave use medicines and other essential items”, added Maulavi Irfan Ahmad. 

While talking to people of Kulangam Handwara they said that they were very thankful to the 21RR as they provided food to needy people as well as to migrant labourers. The officers and jawans of the 21RR appealed to the general public to please stay at home and stay safe.-By Aadil Akbar
