Mumbai: National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) Presidential nominee Droupadi Murmu visited Mumbai today to seek support from the MLAs and MPs of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and alliance partners.
On her visit to the financial capital, she was received by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
In a meeting later held at a hotel near the airport, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Ramdas Athawale, Narayan Rane and other party functionaries were present.
BJP sources who were present in the meeting quoting Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the CM has assured Ms Droupadi Murmu that 200 MLAs from the state will vote for her.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Rajendra Gavit paid a courtesy call to Ms Murmu on her visit to Mumbai.
