Javadekar says 1121 ventilators will be received in the next 2-3 days

Mumbai: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar Saturday asked the Maharashtra government to scale up testing in the state. The Information and Broadcasting Minister further said that 1,121 ventilators will be sent to Maharashtra in the next 3-4 days.
He said, seven hundred ventilators will be received from Gujarat and more than four hundred will be received from Andhra Pradesh. Javadekar assured the state government that the Centre will assist in the supply of oxygen supply. Later talking to reporters, Javadekar said that to overcome the shortage of vaccine reported in some parts of Maharashtra, the state has 15.63 lakh doses of vaccines
He said to break the chain of the virus, more and more people who have come in contact with a Covid positive patient should be tracked and quarantined.
Javadekar today attended a high-level meeting along with deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar to take stock of the Covid-19 situation in Pune.
He said that he has spoken with the state’s chief secretary Sitaram Kunte and has urged him to distribute the vaccines optimally in various parts of the state. He also said that Punekars have given a good response to the weekend lockdown.
Maharashtra deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar said that the next 15-days are crucial for the Pune district and appealed to everyone to work towards breaking the chain of the virus.
He asked the administration to work towards implementing a strict policy to provide hospital beds to needy patients and on selling Remdesivir medicine.
