In the wake of a significant setback for the Lok Sabha elections in Beed district, Sharad Pawar’s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is gearing up for a strategic shift in the Parli constituency. With Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde aligned with Ajit Pawar, the political landscape in Parli is poised for upheaval, setting the stage for a fierce electoral battle.

Dhananjay Munde, hailing from Gangakhed, is seen as a formidable contender for the upcoming elections. However, the dynamics are shifting as Rajabhau Phad, the son-in-law of Gangakhed MLA Ratnakar Gutte, is set to join the Sharad Pawar faction. Phad, a prominent figure with a background as the Youth Regional President of the Rashtriya Seva Sangh (RAS), is eager to contest the elections from Parli and has garnered significant public support in the constituency.

The anticipated joining of Phad is expected to heighten competition for Munde. He will officially enter the party in a ceremony attended by Sharad Pawar, where he will be flanked by around a thousand supporters from the Parli constituency. “If Sharad Pawar gives his candidature, I will fight strongly in Parli constituency,” Phad stated, emphasizing his commitment to the party and his aspirations.

Additionally, other key players are vying for the party nomination in Parli, including Congress district president Rajesaheb Deshmukh, Baban Gitte, and Sudamati Gutte. The strategic positioning of candidates from both the NCP and Congress is creating a complex electoral scenario, with Pawar’s decision on the candidacy being a focal point of interest.

As Sharad Pawar re-enters the political fray in Parli, the region is bracing for intense campaigning and potential clashes as rival factions rally their supporters. The outcome of this political maneuvering could significantly impact the future of the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition in Maharashtra.

With the stakes higher than ever, all eyes will be on how these developments unfold leading up to the elections, making Parli a hotbed of political activity in the coming months.
