Speaking at an event in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Opposition’s INDIA bloc, accusing them of prioritizing familial interests over the welfare of the nation’s citizens.
Addressing the gathering to commemorate Sant Ravidas’ 647th birth anniversary, Prime Minister Modi criticized the INDIA alliance, alleging that its members engage in divisive caste-based politics and oppose schemes aimed at benefiting Dalits and marginalized communities.
“In our country, the people of the INDI alliance, who believe in instigating and fighting in the name of caste, oppose the schemes for the benefit of Dalits and the deprived. In the name of the welfare of the poor, these people do politics for their family,” he remarked.
Despite facing initial challenges, the INDIA bloc appears to be consolidating its presence in several states. In Delhi, alliance talks between the Congress and AAP are reportedly in their final stages, while the Congress has solidified an alliance in Uttar Pradesh with the Samajwadi Party.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has labeled the INDIA bloc as an unnatural alliance, citing internal rivalries among its constituents.
Asserting his government’s commitment to inclusivity and development, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Effort.’ He reiterated that equality can only be achieved by prioritizing the needs of marginalized sections of society.
“In the last 10 years, work has been done keeping in mind those people who remained away from the stream of class development. Earlier, the poor were considered last, today the biggest schemes have been made for them,” he affirmed.
Prime Minister Modi’s remarks underscore the ongoing political dynamics in the lead-up to key elections, highlighting the contrasting visions for governance and development espoused by different political entities in India.
