Mumbai: New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are two sides of the same coin and both can go to any level for drawing political mileage. The country has seen these two indulge in these theatrics many times before. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has come to Modi’s aid by demanding pictures of gods and goddesses to be printed on currency notes and has sought to give religious colour to currency notes in a bid to divert people’s attention from the main issue that is of the deteriorating economy. Kejriwal’s true colours are now before the public, remarked Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Nana Patole on Thursday.

Commenting upon CM Kejriwal’s demand, the MPCC president said that the country’s economy has deteriorated due to the wrong policies and blunders of the Modi government. The Indian Rupee is depreciating by the day. Inflation has gone up and the unemployment rate is at a 45-year high. People are frustrated and there is an atmosphere of anger against the government in the country.

Economists are giving various suggestions to bring the economy back on track and provide relief to the people. But the union finance minister of the country is making a cruel mockery by saying that the Indian Rupee is not depreciating but the US Dollar has strengthened.

Now the highly educated Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, has taken a step ahead of Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman and has demanded that the photos of goddess Lakshmi and lord Ganpati be printed on the currency notes to stop the depreciation of the Indian Rupee. Kejriwal is now trying to give religious colour to the issue for political gain ahead of Gujarat assembly elections.

Even though Kejriwal is aware of the laws and regulations in this regard, he is trying to divert public attention from burning issues by making such a demand. Some Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Maharashtra have even gone ahead and demanded Modi’s photos to be printed on currency notes. Nana Patole sarcastically remarked that the wisdom of these leaders of the state has gone bankrupt along with the country’s economy.
