Srinagar: Hamid Chara Army Goodwill School (AGS) Chandigam organised a felicitation ceremony to felicitate youth icon and role model Shah Abrar-ul-Haq for securing admission at IIT Mumbai. Shah Abrar is an alumnus of Hamid Chara AGS Chandigam who did his entire academic studies from nursery to standard 12th at the same school run by Indian Army for development of Kashmir.
While sharing his experience and journey to success, Shah Abrar said, “Teachers are builders of the nation and without teachers and school administration, it was not possible for him to achieve this success. There is no alternative to hard work. Hard work assisted with proper guidance can bring any laurels in life.”
Abdul Hamid Shah, father of Abrar expressed his emotions by saying, “those parents are lucky whose children are doing well in their education and their respective fields,” he said, adding “Hamid Chara AGS Chandigam is taking all possible measures to make students successful in their life and in the education sector.”
During the program Shah Abrar-ul-Haq was felicitated with a medal and certificate of excellence from school administration and also rewarded with a cash prize of ₹10000. On the occasion, dignitaries motivated the students to work hard and contribute to the development of Kashmir.
The program started with a welcome speech by bright students who welcomed all the other students, prominent alumni of the school, parents, chief guests and dignitaries followed by a melodious welcome song.
The guest of honour for the occasion including SDM Lolab, Ajay Ahmad, local Sarpanch and Panch, Civil Administration, Secretary Army Goodwill School Chandigam, parents and Alumni of AGS Chandigam who motivated all students to follow the path of Shah Abrar-ul-Haq.
The guests spoke to the students and said, “Earning is not important, Serving is. Kashmir can progress only if a greater number of students come forward, work hard and achieve success like Abrar”. A small but appreciative cultural program was organised by students during the event.
At the end, the program was concluded by vote of thanks and tea with students. Large number of gatherings of approximately around 25 alumni, 35 parents, 20 Civil dignitaries and 100 students attended the event.
